We, as a nation, have undertaken a task that we had no business getting into. You guessed it - Afghanistan! We have no business there and it makes me sick to hear the 'starched shirts' on the 'hill' to claim that these warriors are fighting for our freedom! That is BS to the max. If you disagree with me, that is your right, but it is my right to express my thoughts on the subject.
I totally support the individuals that choose to support themselves, in this economy, by joining the Armed Services. There is a differance in serving our (my) country and fighting a rich man's war, which is what we are doing in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan, as a country, is not a threat to our national security. No it is not, not a bit. When the locals of Afghanistan are ask what it will take to end the fighting, they repeat, "when the Americans leave, so will the insurgents".
The answer is that simple - bring our troops home, NOW!
I have so much to say about this subject that it will take months of blogging to get it done. I you care to follow me into the nightmare that is Afghanistan, please follow me and participate in the dialouge. Maybe together we willcome up with an idea, or two that will end up in the right place - at the right time.
